    2020  WNAR/IMS/KISS/JR Annual Meeting

    ANCHORAGE, ALASKA, USA

CANCELED (Student Paper Competition still on!)

    UPDATE

Due to the health concerns associated with the ongoing pandemic and complying with the government's guidance, WNAR committee has decided to cancel the 2020 meeting in Anchorage, Alaska (June 14 - 17, 2020). For those who have already registered for the meeting, registration fees will be fully refunded.  Please contact your airlines or hotels for cancellation if you have already made reservations.

WNAR is planning to hold its 2021 Annual Conference in Anchorage, Alaska.  Dates and venue for the future meeting are under planning.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We thank our partners and members for their supports and efforts. We wish everyone stay healthy and safe!

Student Paper Competition is still ON!
We will continue to run our popular Student Paper Competition remotely. The best student paper awards will be selected from the student papers submitted. The oral presentation of Student Paper Competition will be held online through Zoom. The deadline to submit the abstract is April 21, 2020.  The deadline to submit the paper is May 15, 2020

    Submission

Abstracts and papers should be submitted via email to Student Paper Competition Committee Chair Harold Bae (wnar2020.student.comp@gmail.com).

The abstract should follow the below guidelines:
    •    Title of the abstract
    •    Abstract body (maximum of 1200 characters)
    •    Authors and affiliations
    •    Information for the corresponding author (i.e. the student information), which includes first and last name, email, affiliation, and current degree program.

    Guidelines for manuscripts
Manuscripts should be double-spaced, in manuscript format, using Biometrics guidelines for authors (single column format is fine). They are limited to 10 pages including tables and figures, but exclusive of references. One-inch margins and at least 10-point font must be used. Reported research should be relevant to biometrics applications. An appendix is allowed; however, it may contain only non-essential information (e.g., proofs) and your paper must be complete without the appendix. The reported work must be that of the student, although collaborators may be co-authors, provided that the student is the first author.

Students should submit a blinded version of their paper, with author and institution information removed from the document.

Because we cancelled the annual conference, travel support for students who participate in the competition will no longer be provided.

The 2020 WNAR/IMS/KISS/JR meeting will be in Anchorage, Alaska from June 14-17. Join us during the season of the midnight sun in Alaska’s largest city, nestled between the Chugach Mountains and Cook Inlet. Anchorage is a place rich in culture, history, natural wonders, and wildlife.
